2012-2013 NBA Season Preview

2012-2013 NBA Season Preview

There is a lot of buzz about the 2012-2013 NBA season with all of the free agent moves  that took place in the off-season. Teams snatched up some top players from the pool of athletes left unsigned after last year's season and made numerous team trades to acquire others. Discussing all of the signings will be practically impossible, so touching on the top 4 will be the target for now.

Steve Nash - Nash has played for the Suns for the past 8 years of his 16 year career. He is viewed as one of the elite point guards in the league today and one of the best to ever play the game in his position. In each of the last 8 seasons he is averaged over 10 assists per game and 15 points also. He was  surprisingly unsigned at the end of the 2011-2012 season and was picked up by the Los Angeles Lakers to play along side of Star SG, Kobe Bryant.

Dwight Howard - The second biggest p ickup of the off-season also  made by  the LA Lakers in Dwight Howard. Howard has never  had less then a 10 rebound  per game average in any of his 8 seasons since he has been in the league.  Asking for a trade from  the only team he has ever played for, the Orlando Magic, in a trade for Andrew Bynum and some key draft picks, Howard  hopes to play for another " dream team  " like the Heat have had in recent years. Howard, Nash, and Bryant will be in pursuit of a ring next year with the power they are going to display .

Jason Terry - To the shock of several, SG Jason Terry wasn't resigned by  Dallas  and was picked up by the Celtics this year. Terry had been with Dallas for 8 years and appeared to play well with Dirk and the  rest of the Mavs  . He signed a 3 year deal with the Celtics on July 17th and will be in Boston this season.

Ray Allen -  Like the Heat neede d more of a star-studded lineup, Ray Allen was signed by Miami in the off-season. The Celtics decided to let him go and pick up before-mentioned SG, Jason Terry, from the Maverick's unsigned list. The additional experience of Allen will most lcertainly be the front man the Heat have been missing  to go along with the big three, Wade, James, and Bosh.

All of these off-season acquisitions will make a massive impact on the 2012-2013  season. The Lakers have  put together  the team that Kobe needed in order for him to battle the Miami Heat and make a run at the championship once again. Seeing these players in new uniforms will be quite different, but may be what the league needed to be more fascinating then ever.
